This day is about Nippers putting into practice what they have learnt during the season, having a go and doing their best. There will be ribbons given to those placed in the top 3 for each event in each Age Group (Boys and Girls events) at the end of all the events. An announcement of the overall Girl and Boy winners for each Age Group will happen at the Junior Presentation Night which is held later in the year at the end of the Competition season. More details on that night will be provided closer to the time.
We will require parents to help on the day as there are a lot of nippers to move through each race station. Please be prepared to be heat marshalls and finish line judges when asked. These roles are not difficult and will be explained on the day. If we don’t have enough volunteers we will have to resort to voluntolds 😊
Make sure you bring lots of snacks and water for our nippers to stay hydrated and nourished. Sunscreen is a must!
The last session on 25 February is our Emergency Services Day where our younger nippers can meet and learn from a range of Emergency Services and our older nippers will have a chance to put some of their rescue learnings into practice – more to be revealed on the day!
Depending on whether there are any emergencies happening then the rescue helicopter, LSV jet skis, water police, ambulance, SES and fire services will be there on the day.
At the end of the session the Age Managers will hand out the Surf Education Award Certificates to our nippers. Therefore please expect to stay until around 10:30am. More details to follow next week.
